Our Classic composite decking range will lighten and lose up to 30% of its colour in the first 6 months before stabilising to its final colour.
Building materials are made in different batches. Batches can differ in size, shade, texture and colour. We always recommend ordering all of your decking together.
Composite decking boards have a width tolerance of up to 2%.
Our classic range can be stained by foreign substances, including chemicals from hot tubs.

Does grey composite decking fade over time?
Our range of classic composite decking, of which grey is a part of, will lighten and lose up to 30% of its colour in the first 6 months so that it can stabilise to its final colour. This is completely normal, and after this period our grey composite decking won’t fade any further and will remain fresh for years to come.
Does grey composite decking get hot in summer?
Depending on the shade of your composite decking, it can heat up in the summer and this is completely normal. To avoid composite decking getting too hot, opt for a lighter shade such as our light grey composite decking.
What is the best colour for composite decking?
It all depends on what style you’re after. For a more modern look, colours such as charcoal and light grey work very well. Pair these colours with a matching composite garden screen for an even more modern look. If your style is more traditional, and you like the look of wooden decking without the disadvantages, opting for brown composite decking or teak composite decking is the perfect choice.

I have always used wooden decking in the past, but it ages fast and soon becomes slippery. This time I tried composite and requested a sample which arrived promptly.
After selecting a colour I ordered a quantity of boards and fixings which arrived very promptly.
Fitting was easy, the trick is to keep the fixings loose and tighten at the end. Cutting is the same as wood, so no issues.
The only difference is that supports need to be every 300mm, twice as many as needed for wooden decking.
The end result is excellent.
