How to Use Our Composite Decking Calculator
1. Enter Your Measurements Into the Composite Decking Calculator
Measure the length and width of the area you wish to calculate the composite decking for. The length and width multiplied together will give you the square meters to enter into the calculator.
2. Select the Decking Range You’d Like to Use
Choose from our classic or premium composite decking ranges, depending on your style preferences and budget. Both provide great performance and durability but the Premium decking features our advanced Dino Shield™ technology. This provides increased resistance to moisture, staining, algae and mould, along with added UV protection to reduce colour fade.

Composite Decking Calculator FAQs
How accurate is Dino's composite decking calculator?
Our decking cost calculator is designed to give you an accurate estimate based on the dimensions you enter and the materials you select. Based on those figures it provides a precise calculation of the number of boards, accessories and cost of materials. However, actual material needs – and costs – can vary depending on factors such as wastage and unconventional deck shapes. We recommend adding 5-10% to the number of decking boards you order to account for these factors and any cuts you may need to make for a perfect fit.
How many lengths of composite decking do I need to build a deck?
To build a composite deck, the number of decking boards you need will, of course, depend on the size of your project. Simply enter the dimensions of the planned decking area into our composite decking cost calculator, and it will indicate how many boards you need based on those figures. It is generally best to round up and add 5-10% more boards to allow for wastage and offcuts.
What size are your composite decking boards?
What is the difference between wood and composite decking?
Our composite decking is made from a blend of recycled wood fibres and plastic, which provides a more durable, low-maintenance option compared to traditional timber. It is engineered to be resistant to rot, warping and weather damage, making it a great long-lasting choice for your outdoor spaces. Read more in our composite decking vs traditional wood post.
What is the difference between the classic and premium ranges?
Both ranges are tough, durable and attractive, creating stunning decks that come with a 10-year guarantee. The Premium range also features our Dino Shield™ Technology, which provides even greater weather protection, increased resistance to stains, mould and algae and added UV protection to help prevent colour fade.
Can the Dino decking calculator provide an installation cost estimate?
Many people choose to install their own decking but others might want to employ a professional installer, especially for more complex decking projects. Our composite decking cost calculator is great for providing an estimate of the price of the materials required to complete your decking project; however, as Dino Decking does not provide installation, this is not included in the price.
Installation fees vary depending not only on the size of the deck but also on factors such as the complexity of the layout and local labour rates. We recommend contacting a professional decking installer to assess your project and provide a detailed cost breakdown before ordering materials.
